NRB have undertaken numerous heating upgrade projects across the years, varying in size and complexity, with many having been completed to a phased programme in occupied student accommodation.   

The majority of the projects comprised of either the reconfiguration of the existing circuit cabling, or the supply and installation of new. The provision and installation of new heating controls, modification to the BMS systems where required and the testing and commissioning of the electrical and mechanical services, with the aim of been more economical for the Client.

The works were undertaken within several different residences for each project and where often spread not only across campus but the surrounding city.

Although some of the properties were vacant for the contract period, not all were, consequently, works had to be programmed around the student occupants and building users.  It was imperative for the safety of students and staff alike that due care was taken and all works were securely segregated, appropriate safeguarding was instigated and strictly adhered to and works were sequenced so as to keep disruption to an absolute minimum.
